I don't know any of the steel spec's, would be oil quenched, and bought off the internet. Reason why I'm asking is to find a replacement shaft for my PTO. I can have the old shaft welded and ground to a hardness of Rockwell 60. I don't know the wear valve of that. It would be the idler gear's roller bearings rolling on the surface. Any thoughts?
