I suggest you go see your local independent insurance agent, better yet, have the seller go see his (even if you have to pay a little more for the vehicle). When I had my own insurance agency in Colorado, we could issue/sell what was called a LOST TITLE BOND in an amount twice the value of the vehicle. the typical bond was less than $75 (may be more now). Just a thought.
