21-inches of snow here between a snowfall last Tuesday and another yesterday.

Both were a VERY heavy and wet snowfalls. If the temperatures had been a couple of degrees warmer, it would have been all rain. But the Power-Wagon, chained up on all fours with standard cross links on the rear tires and doubled up ice cleat cross links on the front tires, still pushed it with the 9-foot plow. Of course, it also pushed a LOT of gravel and sod too as there is yet to be any frost in the ground.

That is usually the way it has been lately during the first major snowfalls each winter. State snowplows all over the place buried in the medians. They get their wheels off of the pavement on one side and get sucked right into the mud.

I am thinking about taking my cutter bar off of the Good Roads plow, slotting a pipe, tube, or 4140 prehardened solid round and welding on the bottom of the bar. Two people have told me in the past week that this prevents a plow from digging into the gravel and sod, but it will still move snow just as well. (I had my castors set for the cutter bar to ride 2-inches above the ground - it didn't help at all). I see they also make "plow pipes" for specific plows that can be removed. So there must be some truth to the theory. Anything to keep from wrecking my yard each winter.

Looks like I gave up skiing about 25 years too early.
