sounds like fun! he lousy gas nowadays...i would have pulled the #1 sparkplug, squirted sone motor oil in and cranked it a few times then put a my thumb over the plug hole bumped it over til the pushed my thumb free then i would assume at its highest point then est tdc! your way seems much easier! happy new year!
