So that’s sorta the easiest approach. And a direct plug and play setup if I can use the early 3/4 ton diff “AS IS” in my front housing.
If I did use it “AS IS” I woukd be leaving the 3-4 ton side gears which in fact take the larger splined axles, I.E. for a 1-3/8” shaft
So you answered that question, being that the 1/2 tons front axles WILL slide into the 3/4 ton side gears… they will just be a tad loose
