I’ve always been a fan of Warn winches but the last couple I’ve had on trailers didn’t hold up well & they’re expensive. So I was in 4WD Parts looking at the Warn winches after I had someone steal the one off my trailer. I went over & asked the guy if he sells many of the cheaper brand they sell called Smittybilt. He said that’s all he sells. Said he doesn’t remember ever selling a Warn because a 15k Warn up here is over $2k. So the 18k lb Smittybilt was $800. I asked if they’re just junk. He said he didn’t ever remember anyone complaining about them? So he says, listen, we have a deal where for $80 extra, if you buy the Smittybilt & have any warranty issue with it, you just bring it back & they give you another new one for 24 months, no questions asked. I thought…hmm….you can’t really beat that. It was wireless remote control which was really handy on the trailer. I had it 3 years before selling the trailer. Didn’t ever give me a minutes trouble to my surprise & it pulled some big trucks up onto that trailer. I’d buy another.
