Here is a photo showing both the rivets from the inside, plus also the cut off u-channel support on the inside of the door. At the top of the support, it fits against the hinge backing plate, but then it bends in to fit flush against the inner door skin, and then curves at the bottom to fit against the bottom of the door skin. I cut it where it bends, I cut it out because it was rusted enough that it was not supporting anything.
