I lost my fan belt in my command car on the way home one afternoon. I pulled over,opened the hood, saw the generator motorizing. I unhooked the wire. But hmm, no belt, no water pump... So I hopped back onto the freeway. The air through the radiator cooled it, and drove the fan, running the water pump too. It ran cool too. Once I was off the freeway I shut it off as I coasted up to the lights. Restart at the lights, 2-3 times before I got home.
