Marty: When I did my differentials my friend made a cap tool from a piece of steel pipe He cut teeth on one end that fit into the cap and then welded a top piece on it with a 3/4" socket hole We then bolted the case to a differential holder he had that went into a large vice. We heated the case and froze the cap then screwed the cap on. We lined up the pin holes that hold the cap in place and called it good. We had to use a long cheater pipe to get it tight and just about tipped over his work bench in the process.
I must say putting in an ARB locker is much easier.
