Sand can be tough on sheet metal if one not experienced. When I have had my carryall blasted they used garnet mixed with walnut shell. The walnut buffers the garnet so it is less aggressive. It was still aggressive enough to remove all the rust. It took awhile to get all the dust out to the little crannies. I then sprayed rust converter in some areas and spayed a good PPG primer. No rust or bleeding has ever been seen in the 20 plus years since.
