the nut is under about 200 ft lbs of preload torque for the outpput bearings, check threads, may be left hand due to rotation of shaft, use a 3/4" drive impact socket and gun work rt and left, once it loosens it will come off easily, I used to have to use a 1" impact to remove yoke nuts on oshkosh t cases, they were under 400 ft lbs of preload! I had a 2" 6pt impact socket with the walls narrowed down on the lath to fit the nut inside the yoke, there should be a machined flat washer behind the nut, when you re-assemble, buy a new nut (euclid makes them) available at drive-line service store. youve got your work cut out! If you dont want to bother with it, i will gladly take the trans for my w300! as long as its an od model!
