If the re-builkder (re-manufacture) mixed and matched parts, you might have one with a GM splined shaft.
The spline count and taper rate is the same as the Dodge, but the starting diameter on the GM is larger. You have to leave the lock washer off and use Lock-Tight to make the GM shaft work with a Dodge Pitman Arm.
A common problem I have on most of the rebuilt units I've used (gone through).
