Here is the image of stock hood prop on the drivers side of my B3-PW. Notice how the spring loop does not fit tight back against the notched catch on the firewall. This is the only prop on all of the trucks I have ever owned that has given me problems. No adjustment has any effect on this particular hood. Upon further inspection, I think the catch was riveted to the firewall a tad bit too far away from the hood center hinge.

It has never given me a problem until I go to the other side of the truck to open the passenger side hood. Doing so can move the hood just enough to cause the driver side prop to dislodge from its catch.
