It's really not needed on a low compression, low revving flathead. A good 12V from NAPA will do just fine. If you have an external ballast resister, you'll need a coil for it, make sure the parts counter person knows that.

You really don't need Petronix either, keep your points replaced when they get a fairly burnt, and the truck will start up and run fine every time.
