Thanks for the congrats and kind words Todd.

Well, I live in a weird situation. Long story short...

Fancy semi-rural neighborhood goes under construction in '07, with a golf course planned at the end of the neighborhood. Market crashes in '08. Golf course project gets abandoned as developer tanks but the houses get completed and are really really nice. Well, I'm the weird single guy living in the 3200 SF ICF / metal roof barn that was going to be the pro-shop upstairs and carts / venue downstairs with the big viewing deck etc. The place was abandoned / used as hunting cabin or storage over the years until I bought it 2 years ago. The golf course was only partially cleared for and was "returned to nature" so 30 acres of woods, out in the boonies, and my neighbors are all semi-wealthy retired or work from home high earning families who amongst themselves refer me as "Doc Brown" in reference to Back to the Future.

The apartment is 756 SF above one side of the work space. Only downside is that I don't have access to 3 phase power so all my bigger tools are running on VFDs.

I'm happy as can be as this place fits my lifestyle perfectly. My ex wife would laugh when I would say I just wanted to live in an abandoned factory building, warehouse, or barn with NO yard to maintain, and all my tools, machines, etc under one roof. Voila.
