But a $300 billet and some CAD time, lots less than 40K for ONE. And all you need is a file on your phone and another billet for another.

Different production methods for 1, 10, 10,000, as my buddy the VP of Dana Auto parts says. Castings are good for the 10,000.

I did my steam engine as a fabrication. Same amount of work as a set of patterns. But the local foundries never called me back.
