Factoring in the union, there is about 5 3/4" too much fuel line. The easiest fix would be to bend some extra fuel line that has fittings in to a circle, and use a couple unions to connect them. But, that would look kinda silly. Kinda like the builder does not know how to flare fuel line. Which he doesn't.

Hmmm, no one seems surprised.

Is cutting off the excess the preferred fix? If so, what flaring tool do you recommend? It is a tool that I will keep, and maybe use again, and my tools will someday go to my sons in laws, so Harbor Freight is not my go to for this one. Before anyone thinks I besmirch Harbor Freight, I sometimes buy stuff from Harbor Freight. I have four Harbor Freight grinders, that cost $9.99 each with a coupon. Why four? One for cut-off, one for a grinding disc, one for flap wheels, and one for a wire wheel. Imagine when I only had one and had to change discs each time I wanted to use a different medium.

I digress. What is your favorite flaring tool?
