Yes it’s a sad situation. Unfortunately up here…I don’t think you’d have success with lawyers. They seem to have a standard that vehicles are repaired to & im not even so sure that the insurance wouldn’t argue that they aren’t paying the whole claim because according to their repair standards…that roof…the paint had damage to begin with.
It’s like my 8 day old truck that got smashed…I don’t want it anymore but unfortunately my only option if I didn’t want a repaired truck was to sell it & pay the extra for a new one…which in this case…you’re going to have a hard time even finding one.
Sometimes life sucks.
