I had the same problem. Heres what I did.
Find the gap in the split ring, and using a 1” hole saw, drill a hole thru the sidewall of the tire directly above the slot in the split rim.
Next, use a sawzall and cut thru the split rim slot - completely thru the bead of the tire.
This will release the grip of the bead around the rim, allowing easy removal of the tire.
