I did some reading on another site and the biggest issue is slipping exhaust cam gears. some genius diced that 'friction fit" would actually work. no pin or keyway. stupid design. they also had cracking EGR cooler and leaky exhaust. They say 2020 versions have been upgraded for all of it but i don't think the cam gears have been.
The engine was designed by GM for Cadillac's in Europe but they abandoned it when GM sold interest in the company
