I think I’d install an auxiliary gearbox like a brownie if I wanted taller gearing in a W500 these days. Then you have the best of both worlds & lots of gears to play with. On a W500 there should be enough room between the transmission & transfercase so you’d have high & low even in 4x4.
That’s what I’d look into. I mean they aren’t light but weight isn’t really an issue on a W500 :)
