Rick, you mentioned that you hope to find a "fully restored Power Wagon that needs nothing."

"Fully restored" means something different to everyone. To me, it means a truck with all (and only) the correct parts, finish, and detail that it had when it came off the assembly line - no better and no worse. This would mean doors and hoods that don't necessarily line up perfectly with the rest of the body lines, some runs and missmatched colors in the paint, 6-volt (if that is the year of model you are after) and the list goes on. It also means to me that you are not intending to drive it for any amount of distance or haul anything in it.

If you do find a fully restored truck, it will soon leak oil at different seals if you do drive it and the brake cylinders will soon attract moisture if it is not driven and not stored properly.

Have you considered any of the following: resto-mod, modified, modernized, upgraded, survivor with patina, etc?

I agree with those who have suggested attending Rallys first. That is a good way to see many different Power-Wagons, talk to the owners, and either confirm exactly what you want/need, or possibly change your mind and even save some money.

Junior
