Ok, so what you and Dean are telling me is that the M37 early Model 88950 and the M37 late model NP420 transmissions with different casting numbers have the same bolt pattern? The reprint of the WAR Department's TM 9-1808C, dated July 17, 1981, 41 - 71 Power Train Interchanges and reprinted by John Zentmyer, page 35, 8.2 Interchangeability, a) states in part".. the bolt pattern is common to all models of the WC, M37 series and early power wagon series trucks. ...the primary difference among the various bell housings is the mounting ears, which are unique for each model..", somewhat confusing. I do have an ORD 8 SNL G-741 that I'll be looking at that covers the M37B1 truck using the NP420 transmission. It just makes no since to me that a transmission housing using the same casting number would have different mounting ears.
