How cold does it get where you live in BC?
Maybe that is why others feel this insulation helps, like in the midwest, etc.
When we sold our "starter" house, the purchaser went through a government program (farmers home), and they have a "one size fits all" approach.
To do the deal, among other things I had to add additional ceiling insulation to go from 9" to 12" in the ceiling, even though we live on the coastal plain here and it does not get very cold.
So I guess it depends on where you live and also what the regs require, sometimes not logical.
