The link has some additional guidance on using MMO in fuel, you may want to review. The only down side I would expect might be more carbon build up around the compression rings and valve guides that could cause them to stick over time. I would try and not use either product and continue to find what the problem might be if you're still experience vapor lock. We have up to 10% ethanol in our gas in CA and experience 110 degree plus days, yet I have not had problems with vapor lock. If you can post a pictures of the passenger side of the engine, we might see something that is attributing to the issue.
