Both early and late manifolds will interchange on all 230 Power-Wagons. The header pipe must change also to work with the specific manifold and stock muffler placement.
The biggest problem with the early manifold is it is a weaker casting and is prone to cracking where the outlet intersects the main body. The later manifold is thicker in this area and the cracking problems were more or less solved with the newer design.
