Success!!!!! Tried with a 1/2” set up and no luck. I decided to try the old electric Ingersoll-Rand model A electric impact wrench. Holding the yoke with a pipe wrench and giving it a go for about 10 seconds and letting up for about a minute or so, that POS nut finally broke free and spun right off. Better to be lucky than good I guess. Thanks again for all the advice.
