you have to remove the knob with the rod first. there is a button on top of all pre 80s and maybe later headlight switches. push button and remove knob and rod, then unscrew the nut and remove switch. its not a dodge thing. all cars were that way for ages. the special socket is available on ebay or sometimes they are not too tight nad can be removed without damaging the chrome.
