i think that it would be an interesting swap into a w300 or m37. unsure how much fuel savings could be achieved by removing the smog equipment that would not be required on an older vehicle. paul was lucky to get a 5.9 cummins and get 16mpg. the newer ones are choked with emissions and get mileage in the 10s-12s. that was my experience in locak and highway - non towing use.
