In the 2008 ram 1500 with 4.7 and the charger gauge indicates no charge or at least a low charge way below the halfway mark
Macho checked the alternator on the altenator with his charging guage and it shows the altenator to be charging correctly and we were checking it at night with the lights on
He says the brushes for the gauge are probably warnout and the brushes for charging are probably not far behind and it would be best to put in a new altenator
Also at one point after the check gauge light came on when i was turning around the truck it acted funny and started lunging as if it was losing and regaining power intermittingly for a brief moment then that went away and the truck ran fine
I had just gotten back from a 4 hour run to san jose and back when the check gauge light came on
When it originally came on i stopped turned the truck off restarted it and the light did not come on but then came on again a few miles down the road and stayed on till i got home and matcho came over and checked the altenator as mentioned above
The truck has 100000 kilometers on it
