Everyone around me here in this town who has ever kept a truck running with paper clips and bubble gum tell me they have used sawdust to quiet a noisy Tranny!!!
Now that’s a real mask cover up for worn parts!!
Though it isnt something I would do, it does have a slight “appeal” insomuch as helping determine if it’s worn gears clattering VS bad bearings.
I was thinking just before dropping tranny, for a rebuild/inspection, I gotta completly drain and clean it anyway.
Sawdust MIGHT help me determine if it’s gear clash. I can’t see it getting into the bearings..
Or maybe it would. 😉
