Unless you're micro measuring all the components, you can't be sure the parts are good. The cluster gear has a wear limit of .002, the counter shaft has a wear limit of .002 and you can't see or feel these limits easily and once these parts are outside the limit, the spur gears will try to climb each other and produce a knock that you can hear. The sliding gears also wear in the splines and the main shaft from shifting, and in the channel where the fork rides, they should fit smug on the main shaft or they will rattled, a slight resistance should be felt when oiled and sliding. If the fork or the gear fork channel is worn, it might be possible for a gear to bounce teeth off another. If a fork is bent, and they do get bend, it can do the same thing and you can't tell by visual inspection, you have to compare against a good part. There are differences in bearings, cheap ones don't fit well, tolerances may be too loose causing rattling.

I just replaced all bearings, gears and shafts in my transmission with NOS parts and parts are tight. Go to the PIF, bottom of TOC to the Disassembly/reassembly of the 38711 transmission is and click that link. Go through it to make sure your assembly is good.
