I know everyone has a crazy mechanicing story. Maybe you'll share.
Today while installing my new fuel pump, I realized that my short 1/2" nut driver would be just the tool. I looked for it in it's place and other places and couldn't find it. Tried to makeshift and it wasn't working. Crawled up on the fender and tried to get a better position for the nearly impossible to reach front bolt.
I happened to glance down and, laying on the top of the frame, up against the inner fender skirt, is my 1/2" nut driver!. I left it there when I put the fuel pump in 10 years ago.
40 some years ago I left a little Buck knife in a similar place and found it 10 years after, while replacing the heater hose.
