Zero oil pressure at idle

I had a 360 magnum completely rebuilt by a local machine shop that has since gone bust.
Never has had any oil pressure at idle 30-40 at 2000 RPM . Both mechanical and electric gauges read the same. Pulled the bottom end checked rods and mains with plastigauge..all O.K. Checked side thrust on rods.. OK Installed another new oil pump... nothing. Installed a new high volume pump..nothing. Checked the welsh pug in the galley below the oil sender O.K. At this point I am thinking that the pickup screen is too small (About 1"square) as the pump is fed by atmospheric pressure. My next step is to junk it and get a new crate motor. Any thoughts?
