Well, that completely blows the theory of a swinging pickup used in drag racing that uses a square pickup vs a round one.
I really don't think the shape of the pickup makes that much of a difference as long as there is no restriction or it's shaped in a way to prevent cavitation from crank windage and that's not going to come into effect until you hit higher rpms. Jmo
