Question: When you've pulled the starter apart to get it unstuck and you try to push the commutator back between the spring loaded (four) brushes--how can you hold them off enough to slide the commutator between them?

I've got the brush holding end cap off and pulled away only a half inch or so I could put the larger (commutator) end back in place.
