I agree with your comments. Narrow tires and weight allows the tread to get down through the muck and get ti the solid dirt. In most cases that setup up is much better than flotation tires which are much better for mud bogging.

I was teaching a four wheel driving class. I was in my ffPW. After about 45 minutes of running some difficult trails I got the rear tires between some tree roots and lost traction. I got out and was engaging the Warn hubs when the young guy in the truck behind me came up and asked if I needed help. Nope I said, I am just putting it into four wheel drive. He yelled you haven’t been in four wheel drive this whole time. I simple said, that a good driver with a good truck can really get almost anywhere. After the driving session I had a good discussion with some of the younger guys.

I suspect that the Ramcharger was ridden very hard by a guy with a lead foot. I would find one that has not been used so hard.
