I got about 8000 miles on the truck, before this issue showed up. This is the second split in the last 100 miles and the repair to the first split was good. The new split was pretty much dead centre of the old one.
All the temps and ranges you mentioned are pretty much the same as mine.
Yes I have a puke tank, I have no clue how much it holds but i will do some math on it.
From some poking around I find a few folks who have had the same issue with recored older tanks and have dropped to 7lbs, in one case a guy ran 1/2 the fleet with 16lb caps and 1/2 with 7lb caps. results where no rad issues with the 7lb cap and 3 split rads with the 16lb caps in the first year.
Other builders have no issues and run as high as 16lbs.
This trip I am planning is not one to have radiator issues on. I do have a few hundred miles to drive before I drop off the map.
