16 too high. diesels don't run hot. I would run stock zero or the option 2-3 lb cap. the radiator is so huge it doesn't need high pressure. Also could be a sign of leaking head gasket or cylinder cavitation.
another thing to check is if the flat rubber seal on the cap you are running is larger than the metal disk behind it then the cap is bad and wont let off pressure when needed. that alone can blow a radiator
