The frustrating thing is it was working fine when I parked it. Last week! I didn't do anything to it. I just shut it down and fixed the differential.
The carb has a new float valve. I rebuilt and tuned it a month or so ago. Was a big pain because, as you say, its some oddball that someone put in there some time in the murky past.
