The shafts have been set in phase. The rear shaft's spline was worn out so I replaced it last year. For some reason the replacement shaft's spline only lasted a few months. I started noticing it clunking at about the time I rebuilt the gearbox. It got pretty bad so I bought another NOS rear shaft with new U-joints and I've installed that.

I still can hear something in the driveline clunking when I pull up to stop. Sounds like a u-joint. And something still is still causing vibrations from about 40 mph and up.

What wiped out the last driveshaft? Could be transfer case misalignment? What do I have left to check? The rear differential is basically new, the drive shave and u-jonts are new, transfer case is new, tranny is freshly rebuilt. These things solved a lot of the issues I was having, but its not there yet.

I don't know if I can trust the driveline shop that's in my area. I get the feeling that its reputation was gained by a previous owner.

This is why I was asking.
