This entire parts thing is a real issue. Until I bought the carryall, I'd never considered it. I'd like to travel in my machine and the parts thing suddenly looms large. The sea of ready parts and knowledge for repair, that everyone else takes for granted, for us is mostly gone. Travel has turned into something like space exploration. Unlike modern cars, with one of these you have to be 100% self sufficient. Makes it kinda' nerve wracking jumping off for a trip.
But we can't take everything with us. Where does it end? Towing a spare carryall?
Anyway, that's why I'm trying to fix everything I can think of before setting off. And why we're doing as much local travel as possible. Run it 'till it breaks then fix what broke is kinda' what we've been doing. Fingers crossed that everything'll hold from now 'cause we're running out of time.
