Thanks a bunch for the advice. I all the wheels, brake backing plates and universal drive shafts out. I believe I did what you were saying. I blocked up the frame using the passengers side bumper and had the drivers side of the axle housing resting on a jack stand. I lowered the passengers side onto the bumper blocking and that side of the axle housing dropped down far enough to clear the sump of the oil pan. I also had a jack stand set up on the passengers side frame rail just as a safety precaution. Was even able to use the pilot studs to push the 3rd member in much more easily. Thanks again.
I am going to replace the steering knuckle bushings ,bearings and the axle shaft oil seal. Do you happen to know the inch or foot lbs. required to set the the knuckle bearing(bushing)?
