Jim lee's blog talks about how no sooner does oneissue get dealt with and another shows up. So I made a list.

My carryall just hit 500 miles and it is a pleasure to drive- no interior .....yet.
(1) I am on my third fuel sending unit- switched to an Isspro floats unit and it has lasted the longest.
(2) Alternators - on my third, first one looked mint but failed so I rebuilt it with a mess of new parts - it still did not function properly so I bought #3 and it works fine.
(3) voltmeters - on my third , first one failed , second one was far from accurate.
(4) second set of tires, one of my XZLs cracked the first time I aired down - the guy who bought them does not air down and is very happy with them - would not work for me.
(5) second set of rims- 16" rims and 40 inch tires are getting harder to find.
(6) Second timing belt - first one squealed too much for me.
(7) second master cylinder , first one leaked, second one leaks so I will have to go to a newer model with a screw top
(8) hydro boost - yep second one of those as well, both units rebuilt but the first one would leave a drop in the cab every day or so.
(9) power steering pump - third one , my first one was cooked while pegged - it never made a noise- I rebuilt it but no change - so I built #3 and it works fine.
(10) second head, my cummins 4bt head blew a gasket - once I got inside the head was cracked, worked fine but I was afraid it might be an issue on a long trip.
(11) Ignition switch, I just bought my third switch because my second one sound like it is about to fail.
(12) turbo - on my second one ,the stock one never did spool, the new one spools and 15 - 20 lbs boost are more the norm.
(13) had a couple of other sending units fail or the gauge needed be switched to match the sending unit.
(14) had to change to T style hose clamps because the worm style kept backing off and I blew off more than one hose, in 500 miles I used a lot of antifreeze.

A bit frustrating? yep but we all go through it and thats the nature of working with these things.
did i tell you i still like driving the thing? Even with head phones on I can hear the engine and turbo humming away. I can get through 3 gears just crossing an intersection ......that amuses me.
Bet you we all have issues like this.
