Ok, I was curious about whether Phil's Archives had anything about Northwest Transmissions, and I came across my own post from 2002. Hopefully the link below works.

Northwest apparently got a hold of engineering drawings (blueprints) for a lot of the older gears and was having them manufactured NEW. I don't know where they are being made, but I can tell you mine at least looked good visually, and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I've only put about 8000 miles on it so far, mind you, but I recently took the top off the transmission and everything looked really good.
