Update Rebuilt first series transmission and installed. Same noise, in 3rd gear only in both 4hi and 4low I ran truck on hoist with help and eliminated front and rear diff noise. i did stethoscope trick found not much so I tore apart transfercase, found nothing that looked wrong no bad bearings or race. i will rebuild transfercase for piece of mind. New intermediate shaft u joints. I will check u joint angles. I eliminated front diff and rear diff by taking off shafts. Turned down New hocky pucks for transfercase mounts will see if noise is gone in the next few weeks.
