Excellent advice there.
The first place I'd look on any engine...burbling or not, is valve adjustment. The reason the planet has gone to hydraulic lifters is they're good...a turn or two one way or the other.
Not so with solid lifters & especially on a new engine. Valves on a solid lifter engine need to be within a 1/4 turn. It's easy to set an engine up to make it start but once we introduce heat, they need to be re adjusted. And not only valves...head torque etc.
I'd start there anyway...that's my guess to the mysterious burble :)
