As far as I know, using your motor example, they just want the oil drained out. Doesn't have to be 'clean'. What they pay is whatever the current price is for scrap. They weigh your vehicle in, you dump your metal, they weigh you out, and cut you a check. A single 3rd member might not get you a burger, but a small pile of metal might....depends on the price of scrap.
