Im the guy that bought the 1968 6x6 that was advertised here a couple weeks ago. It has a sbc 350 that runs great and problem with the clutch setup and the tranny is an ancient 4 sp pos with first being a granny gear. Mechanic thinks the chassis was cut behind the cab and believes I have a WM300 front and a WC62-63 rear. Trying to turn this into a driver. So the 4 sp was removed and it was 24” and the 700r4 is 30” which is a little long. Any ideas on how to make this fit? I’ve already bought the automatic shift kit for the 700r4. I know I can get a short shaft th350 that is about 27+” which probably would work but love to have overdrive and this shift kit for the 700r4 is already purchased. I’ll try to post pics. Any help appreciated.
