Living in snow world, I can agree that my 1 and only truck with an auto (3 others with 4 or 6 speed) is often better in snow. I use that truck to plow snow and it's amazing. And maybe in sand there could be a case for auto. I guess I am just stuck on what the PWs came with....flathead 6 and 4 speed. I wouldn't want a V8 and auto in my WDX, but that is just me.
